Chapter Two...

Well, this time maybe a little less talking and more pictures. But first just a little bit about me. I'm a nurse by background having completed my nurse training 30 years ago in January 2012, so yes I'm no spring chicken. I'm now a prison healthcare manager and most of my working life has been in the healthcare/nursing arena. In my spare time I owned horses and rode, mainly hacking and dressage, which gave me little time for anything else, let alone anything creative. Then I had a bad - really bad - riding accident and was airlifted into hospital with three fractured vertebra, 9 rib fractures and concussion. I still have a 9 hour blank in my memory even though I was conscious throughout apparently, and the only thing I'm disappointed about is not remembering the helicopter ride to hospital!! Anyway the doctors declared no more horses and as this was the second time I had broken my back and am still walking I figured that maybe I should quit while I was ahead so I took up sewing again, something I had always done on and off and that's how I ended up here doing this course. I only live 5 minutes from Urchfont Manor and had gone to one of their C&G textile open days and was absolutely blown away with the quality, variety and skills on display. I'd also found art cloth dolls so have done a bit of that too (they're on my other blog so I won't talk about them here).
I'm married with a long suffering husband and grown up son and we are proudly owned by two springer spaniels who are laying at my feet hoping they'll soon get a walk!!

Anyway in a nutshell that's me, so back to the course work..

Coloured papers

This was a little like being back at school. I think I may have been a little simplistic in my approach, but none the less the differing effects on the papers were interesting. Where the sponge left bubbles which subsequently burst when left alone gave a speckled effect which I quite liked.

There were more but I'm guessing you get the general idea....

Well I now need to catch up time and hope to get Chapters 3 and 4 done in the next few days so keep your fingers crossed for me...
